Tokyo Narita or Haneda?

If you guys had the choice of flying into either Tokyo Narita or Tokyo Haneda, which would you choose?

ANA has just recently announced nonstop service from LAX to Haneda and both options are available and on the table for our trip (we'll be flying in biz class...same type of plane on both routes, so the flights themselves should be indistinguishable.)

Narita is significantly further outside of the city than Haneda, right? So the convenience factor definitely weighs in there, I would guess.

The flight times also play a big part:

Haneda = 1:30 AM departure from LAX/overnight flight = less jetlag + morning arrival (more time on the ground our first day there)

Narita = 12:30 PM departure from LAX/day flight = more jetlag + early evening arrival (less time on the ground our first day)

Only downside I can think of is that I'm just *dying* to try out that ANA Lounge at Narita with the infamous noodle and sake bars that I've read so much about. :)

Thoughts?

Haneda would be my choice hands down. Who knows,ANA may have a new lounge in the brand new Int'l wing at Haneda which opens Oct 21, 2010.

Better noodles and sake all over Tokyo anyways, just not for free, lol

Aloha!

i agree with ht, haneda anyday. no sake bar in the ana lounge, and the soba and udon noodles only so-so, but its free, and better than anything the red carpet room offers.

It's like asking whether to fly out of LAX or Bakersfield. NRT is that far out there.

Haneda! Narita is such a PITA to get back and forth from. This would be a no brainer.

Definitely Haneda, Narita is far from Tokyo. In fact Haneda was Tokyo's airport for international and domestic fights until Narita opened. After Narita opened Haneda was used for domestic flights only until now.

Well are you changing to Haneda? ;)

Aloha!

I used to fly into Haneda from the US and it was such an easy thing to just hop on the train to go home. Have not been in Haneda in years but would pick it over NRT any day.
