Tokyo Map in English
Fodorites: Is there an online map of Tokyo that has the streets labeled in English? Google Maps has nice ones, but they are labeled in Japanese. Thanks.

This isn't a map at all, so it doesn't really help you..but it's very cool!
www.yamanote.tv A link showing 360 views of each of the Yamanote line stations..the site is kinda oddly laid out, you have to click around a bit but I really liked seeing the differences between each of the stations' "vibes". Also helped on my first trip to Tokyo, to know in advance what the critical Shinjuku exit nearest my hotel would look like in real life. |
This is useful for seeing what the station looks like and also answers "How to dress in Tokyo"!

Most streets in Tokyo do not have names. This is why it is so easy to get lost. You need to navigate by subway stations and major buildings/places of interest..

Tokyo City Atlas: Bilingual Guide is the best I've seen, and it's not perfect at all.
While the main streets have names, the majority of streets have no names. Addresses do not include street names, but are by neighborhood and block numbers. Virtually everyone navigates by landmarks, intersection names and transit stops, as well as simplified maps to specific places on business cards, advertisements or hand drawn. |

The Tokyo City Guide isn't online. If you require online and can read Japanese I like Mapion. |
