Tokyo Location

Hi all , Through some amazing luck with my airline and frequent flyer miles,I have been able to add Tokyo to the end of my Hong Kong vacation.I'll be there for almost 4 days starting October 10th.Anyway,I've just started researching and am feeling a bit overwelmed. Could anyone suggest a good location or neighborhood to stay in. I'm looking for ease of getting to the sights, nightlife, and not too complex airport to hotel/hotel to airport transportation link. This is my first time in Tokyo (and Japan) and I realize I can't see everything, but would like to base myself the best I can.Since saving money on my air,I could also afford more moderate priced hotels(up to $200.00 US) if the location was excellent although would still stay in a more budget minded hotels as well if possible. Thanks for any help. PEACE

If you use the internet and try The Park Hotel, I was able to get a good room at $170. It's highly regarded, good location...

It's real important for us to get a room as large as we can for the money our budget allows when we stay in a place for more than one night. I can't stand crawling over the bed, luggage, etc. for more than a day.

That rule especially applies to Japan as the rooms there can be minuscule(capsule rooms) in size comparative to the rest of the world. Some countries are now trying to imitate this practice.

I always like to reserve a room of at least 28 m or more. If you are getting rooms at 19-22m and you have 2 people it's a real squeeze and you will be crawling over everything for 4 days.

At 200 US per night you could probably get the Hyatt, Keio Plaza or the Hilton in Shinjuku where the rooms sizes are at least livable at 28-32m.

Aloha!

We stayed at Keio Plaza and dwe consider it very good : large room, very good breakfast, good location (near city Hall and near metro/train) station. The limobus from airport takes you at the door of the hotel. I think that we paid 225 $.

We got a good rate of 18,000 for a deluxe room at the Villa Fontaine in Shiodome. I think it is very near the Conrad and the Park. I have heard it is good...we'll see in a couple weeks! I am assuming that for transportation we'll take the airport limo/bus and take it to the Park. I am not sure it stops at the Villa fontaine. Anybody know?

You can take the bus to the Conrad as the Villa Fontaine is just through the courtyard...maybe 20 steps....from the entrance of the Conrad.
