Should have been "Yokozuna"
Sounds great, let us know how they are Aloha! |
I'm in Tokyo now, and if I get a hankering for gyoza while in Harajuku will check it out, HT.
|
Therese, Can you give us a live update on the fall colors in Tokyo?
Aloha! |
So far nothing too impressive, though I've nit specifically searched out koyo sites. Yesterday I walked through Yanaka Cemetery, Nezu, and Ueno Park and found that the gingko leaves have mostly fallen and the maples are the best color. A lot of green still, though, so I'll look again when I get back to town this weekend after a few days in Tohoku.
Koyo in Atlanta this year was amazing, so I may be looking with a jaundiced eye. |
Koyo started to really show up just north of Omiya, HT, so I expect it will be really starting to light up when I get back to Tokyo tomorrow. Kakunodate still had quite bit, but Nyuto Onsen and Tsurouka done. I'm at Haguro now, and expect it to be largely finished given the elevation.

And in Boston, we are enjoying our typical November cold rain, except in those spots where people can enjoy the typical November freezing drizzle. All leaves are brown and on the ground in clumps mixed with various ground debris. Exept, of course, for the pin oaks: they keep their leaves all winter (still of course a drear brown), only to let the fly when spring arrives, just in case you'd forgotten how much fun it is to rake.
I'm leaving for the airport in 20 mins. |
Groetjes from the Admirals Club at JFK. On my way to Tokyo, Hakone, Hong Kong, & Lyon. Maybe I'll start a new thread. But not now.
Tot ziens, |
Have a terrific trip!
