Hello all,

Make sure you have all of the appropriate vaccines; follow food and water precautions.

I'm going to go vegetarian for the North. I'm also taking antiseptic gel and wipes. Only drink mineral water and check seals on water bottles are Ok. I've also been advised don't buy a brand called Bisleri which apparently has a high percentage of bacteria.

we were there in november which is different from a heat point of view, but we had no problem with bathrooms or with any bottled water...just head to a hotel for a bathroom...
how are you getting around....your leader will assist with appropriate places |
What do you mean by Northern India? True it will be "hot and humid" in New Delhi; it will just be hot in Rajasthan; and it will be neither in Himachal Pradesh - quite cool in fact; ditto Nepal.
I doubt you'll come across a mozzie in any of the aforementioned places. You avoid getting sick by: (a) never eating fruit you haven't peeled yourself. (b) refuse ice in drinks (ok - I guess 5 star places will be OK - they know you know that ice must be made with purified water). (c) when cleaning your teeth use bottled water for rinsing, and keep your mouth closed in the shower!! (d) going veggie is a good option. And you'll get better food that way too if you are eating budget. Always carry a loo roll. |
