tipping

a friend has recently advised that 100 rupees is a normal tip for most services. this is at odds with fodors guide on tipping. can anyone advise on this subject. also, what do indians earn? how does their income compare with the uk?

You should tip based on your own level of satisfaction, $1-2 anywhere should be adequote.
As far as wages fgo, most people you come across earn in a month what someone in the UK earns in a day. Go further outside into very rural areas and what someone earns in a month is probably what you make during a tea break!
