I am really concern about altitude sickness Lhasa. We are taking a 15 days tour with Pacific Delight and will spend 2 days in Tibet(not enough for acclimatization).I am wondering if a hotel or a tour guide have an oxygen in case of any emergency.

Since it sounds like you are using a trou company, I would also ask them.

Anyways, hotels will have oxygen supply and your tour guide should also have portable canister on your tour bus.

And in case of real emergency, they can always send you to the hospital or even evacuate you.

Altitude affects individuals differently. In general, the symptoms are annoying but not serious or life-threatening <b>IF</b> you use precaution and follow what your tour guides tell you to, including but not limited to: walk slowly, no running, no alcohol, don't take a bath, etc. And that includes the first few hours when you arrive, when you feel no symptoms.

Those who get themselves in trouble are mostly those that who don't take the warnings cautiously. Otherwise, all you should experience are headaches, insomnia, mild case of shortness of breathe.

If you have any medical condition that you think may lead to problems consult your doctor before booking. And make certain you have adequate medical insurance for the trip.

You might want to talk with your travel med doc about diamox, a preventive medication for altitude sickness.
