I'd welcome any suggestions. (NOT Nepalese or Bhutanese:)) We like Thai food--it would have to be someplace that I could order a dish mild--due to dietary restrictions I am hoping that it will be possible to order Indian dishes mild in Nepal, Thai dishes mild in Thailand like I do here in California, but don't know if it will be possible.
We like many kinds of food--have mostly avoided Chinese since DH had cardiac event. Do you and Cheryl have favorite restaurants there? |
Thanks rhkkmk for your tips
|
CM, we have lots of favorite restaurants in Bangkok.
For traditional Royal Thai cuisine, Nahm. For Thai food a lovely place with good food (and yes, they will make it mild for you) is Lana Thai at FACE. www.facebars,com For a unique experience, molecular cuisine, Gaggan. It is on the list of the top 50 restaurants in the world along with Nahm. There are many excellent Italian and French restaurants. Also, consider Lord Jim at the Oriental for seafood. |
Thanks, Kathie. I want to make it to the Oriental for drinks--maybe it will be a seafood meal as well.
What is "molecular cuisine"? And, if I may ask, what are your own travel plans this year? Am I remembering correctly that you are Newly Retired (which I fantasize is as magical as Newly Wed)? |
To All:
I just had a good idea I wish I had done years ago. I was thinking I don't want to lose Kathie's restaurant tips, so I copied them, opened a new file in pages called Fodor's Tips...and now I will have a place to easily find various things I don't want to lose track of. I'm pleased and plan to go back over old posts this weekend. |
Thank you very much for all your suggestions and tips. I am very confident that this trip will be an awesome one!
