Things to do in KL ?

I'm thinking of going to KL and I want to know if it's worth a visit-in terms of sightseeing, shopping and nightlife.

And how does it compare with Hong Kong and Singapore, which I visited earlier this year.

It's worth to spend at least 2 days in KL to look around and search for local delicacies if u r interested. Shopping malls are huge, having a big variety just like Singapore and Hong Kong but cheaper.
Sightseeing...take a trip to the Petronas twin towers and get a free ticket for a bridge visit. Make sure u get up early in the morning for tickets at the ground floor counter.
Check out these places: National Museum, Merdeka Square, Petaling Street (Bargain goods), National Monument Garden. Worth to explore.

Nightlife: Discos and fun clubs are everywhere in KL centre. Sri Hartamas and Bangi are some of the best commercial areas for nighttime hanging out where expats usually love to gather.
Well, that will make you a 3-day trip at least.

KL isn't as cosmopolitan as either Hong Kong or Singapore. It's worth a couple of days, but that's about it.

I'm going to be there coming back from Thailand for a lay-over. We're staying at the Pan Pacific Hotel at the airport. We get in at around 4PM and leave at 3PM the next day. Is there anything we should do that night or just relax at the hotel.

Gloria,

It would seem to be a bit of a wasted day if you intend to just spend 18 hours or so in a hotel after a relatively short journey from Thailand, unless of course you've spent hours travelling from one of the more remote islands.

If that's not the case, then IMHO it's worth making the effort to go into the city, if only to visit Chinatown. Mind you, I suppose it also depends where you're flying back to the next day.

KL Tower would be my first choice sightseeing trip. Whereas, at Petronas Towers you can only visit the skybridge on 41st floor, at KL Tower you go to the very top with stunning views (it is built on a hill which makes it appear to be same height as Petronas Twin Towers). Also, there is a restaurant at the top for lunch or dinner which makes for a spectacular evening.
