Thia Business class or SIN Coach Class

Hello All:
I've been on Thai Business class but never been on Singapore Airline or Cathy Pacific? I heard that SIN coat seats are nicer or equal as Thai Business seats. Should I go with Thai Bus class or SIN coach or Cathay Coach. Please share your thoughts. Thank you!

I meant to say SIN coach seat NOT COAT LOL

Singapore coach is fine. I've been taking it for a decade. Happy Travels!

Sing Business was bnot the best I have ever flown. If you can hack economy and save a few euro go for it. Depends on length of time as well.

"I heard that SIN coach seats are nicer or equal as Thai Business seats." Singapore coach seats are fine as coach seats go. But in no way are the coach seats in Singapore as large, have as much leg room or are as comfortable as Thai Biz seats. If you can afford Thai Biz, go for it. Otherwise, Singapore coach is your best bet.

Kathie is 100% correct. There's no way SQ's coach can be better than basically any airline's longhaul business class.

Agree, SQ Coach is very good but no ways can it be compared with TG Business class - who makes these statements ??
Thai Business Class depends on the plane, the new A-340-600 it is good, on the older 777's not so good.
SQ varies also on which aircraft/route.

Tell us, Clear: from which city will you start, and to which city will you go?

Hi All,

Thank you for the advice, We are leaving from Dallas. So I need to get a ticket from DFW to LA to fly on Thai. I think we will be on 777's but not certain. Which state do I need to travel from to get on A-340-600?

clear Sep 16th, 2008 11:40 AM

We are flying from Dallas to BKK since my dad is in BKK. He is paying for the tickets and the budget is $12K for two BUS tickets. So Thai Airline is around that much for 2 adults. I checked Cathay, SIN, AA via Japan airline but the ticket are over $8000 per person for BUS class. Thank you again!

Given the info, I'd definitely go with Thai. You're not going to find anything under $12k for 2 people on any halfway decent airline otherwise.

Also, see if Thai can get you from Dallas to LAX on United (they are Star Alliance partners) in Biz/First as part of your airfare--it might be only marginally more expensive.

First choice: Thai Business for sure!
Second: Singapore Coach
Third: Cathay Coach

Clear, one that has not been mentioned is Emirates - they have a daily non-stop from Houston (IAH) to Dubai from where you go onwards to Bangkok, so from Houston to bangkok just 2 sectors, I don't know how Emirates discount in the US but certainly in Asia they offer heavily discounted Business class.

Call Emirates in Houston and ask if they can suggest a consolidator or just check with T/agents in your area.

I pressume you could get from dalls to Houston quite easy

JamesA,

Emirates ticket prices from Thailand are now the same as European carrier or in another word - expensive!

There are only 2 Mid East airlines that are offering very competitive tickets and they are Qatar and Etihad.

You might want to check EVA Air Premium coach or Evergreen Deluxe (its called something like this) Much much cheaper than any Business Class but the seats are spacious, service is very good. We have flown EVA in this class before and were very satisfied. You will save a boatload of money compared to any airline's Business class!

Hi BillT,

Have you seen the Business Class in EVA airline? Currently we are booked on AA via Japan BUS class. However,I bought refundable tickets so I can change it. I checked EVA BUS class is around $11K for Two adults, Evergreen Deluxe is about $4500 for two so it is much cheaper than Japan which I paid over 16K for two adults. Hard decision. I need to decide soon :-)

Eva is fantastic value, have flown their Biz class several times to BKK (from the uk so its the Premium Laurel biz class product) highly recommend them
