the water
Do I really have to avoid ice?...How about coffee?
Lloyd |
In Thailand that is....and Cambodia.

Avoid ice...coffee/tea is fine...

You'll get mixed answers on this one. In Thailand, we have drinks with ice no problem. The ice is from a factory that uses clean water. As long as it's not crushed ice, I would think it's OK...we've never had any trouble. In Cambodia, I'd avoid ice. Coffee, tea...no problem. I love Thai iced coffees with sweetened condensed milk.

Ice in Bangkok and major resort areas is generally machine made of purified water. Those "cubes" are cylindrical with a hole in the middle and are fine. Avoid any crushed ice, as Kim says. Outside of Bangkok and major resorts, use your best judgement. Hot coffee/tea are fine. Note that you should not use tap water to brush your teeth. Hotels supply purified water for your use.
