I'll check those out, too and see if they have a 24 hr. rate as well.

If it is more about experiencing a bit more of the city than another hotel, why not consider a cheaper accommodation option and book it for a second night?

Another way to deal with a late flight is to get the latest checkout possible, even if it is only 2pm, keep your luggage there, and then go out and about spending the last few hours before you need to leave for the airport at a nearby day spa. Shower and change after your massage, pick up your cases and feel like a million dollars all the way home.

The Sofitel Silom has answered with a 3,600thb rate for 24 hours Am waiting to hear more. many hotels do offer it but it is not on their website I have found out.
I can cancel before that day which will give me time to investigate during our 6 night previous stay.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

i would never pick silom rd as a place to stay if i ever needed to get out of town quickly.... it has some of the worst traffic in bkk at certain times...
