Had breakfast with Mr. & Mrs. HT today at a cafe that we enjoyed yesterday. Mr. & Mrs. RHK arrive this evening but too late for dinner as we are still crashing early due to time zone change. Looking forward to Tokyo GTG tomorrow night.
Lots of rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow will make touring challenging...

We slept through quake. Room is basic but perfect for our stay.
Rain today and some wind.
I will write about 787 Dreamliner separately, but Shelley select seats on JK side...a c has too much light.
Food is edible...
Limo bus fab and right oustSide customs door and p/u right out adjacent door. 1.5 hrs to citidines... Not much traffic until last 5 miles. Taxi right by bus stop.

today we went on the hop on bus--twice... it just started operation this or last week. it is free till nov 14...
nicky---the best way to enjoy japan---bring tons of money...
ATM's are a bit limited. Mastercards don't currently work in many ATM's. we visited a citibank near shinjutu station and i was able to get $1000. in 2 transactions. mastercard did work there.
K just came out of our bathroom and says there is a sign 'not to flush babies down the toilet'--beware please..
we won't see craig and jeane for a couple of days as they have gone off to the countryside. we move on to hakone tomorrow, also in the countryside. we are forwarding our suitcases on to hiroshima by courrier---great service.

Front desk at your hotel can help with the takkyubin (baggage delivery). Best to get your yen in Japan.
Ah, a comment about Japanese toilets already. Wonderful.
Craig & Jean are in for quite a contrast: Tokyo vs Noto.

Smeagol - there is evidently an on-going issue with Maestro cards with the EMV chip - I don't know if this affects you so please read above link.....most US cards don't have the EMV yet.
