The Eugenia, Bangkok
 

I've just been made aware of the existence of The Eugenia in Bangkok (thanks Bisbee). I did a search and came up with only one review (thanks Guen). It looks like just the place for me and I would like to know what anyone else may have to add.

Also welcome is info on any other small, upscale hotels in Bangkok.

I can live with the animal heads, but not excessive street noise.

I'd also like to know about chakrabongse villas.

I would have liked to see more in the way of pictures on the websites. Although there are a few on The Eugenia site, I'm still having a hard time getting a good feel for the place.

I don't think you'll find anyone in this forum who's stayed at the Eugenia as I was just there in August/September and reported on it for others. It is in a quiet area off of Sukumvit. You'll have to tuk tuk to and from Sukhumvit where you can jump on the sky train at the Prom Phong skytrain station which is attached to the Emporium Shopping Center. The hotel is very boutique and I would even give it a try...minus the dead animals. The hotel is like staying in someone's house. Happy Travels!

It's not the most centrally-located, but we're staying at the Old Bangkok Inn. It made Conde-Naste's Hot List and it's quite beautiful and VERY small, which makes it quite in demand. So try and book early.

Definitely our cup of tea...maybe yours too?

Thanks Guys! I had almost given in and booked one of the big hotels, which while very nice, is just not me.

I've been to Bangkok twice now, and never realised that these small, boutique (an overused word, I know) hotels existed.

I'm adding the old Bangkok Inn to my list of possibilities, thanks Filmwill :)

If anyone else has suggestions I would love to hear them.

P.S. Filmwill: Not sure when you're going, but do please report back on the Old Bangkok Inn.
