The best time for hiking in Yakushima

When is it better to hike in Yakushima? Is there very wet conditions for camping? If you know some facts, tips or advice, I will be glad to hear it.

How's you humidity/heat tolerance? I looked into it but decided I'd rather visit there anytime except summer. I'd be more worried about that than rain.

Yakushima gets some of the highest rainfall in Japan - it's not likely that you won't have some days without rain.
If I could pick any season however, I'd likely go with autumn after typhoon season, since it gets a lot more stable weather with far less of the miserable humidity.

These 2 sites can be very helpful in seeing the island:

Humidity and heat both can make trip not very comfortable..
I'm going there in Semtember, so it may be either not so wet and moist, or vice versa. Thanks for great resources!
Yakushima attrackts me for its wildlife and cedar forests. It looks mysterious and untouched.

We visited Yakushima in May and did experience rain but also some sunny days.
I think you have to be prepared and have proper equipment / rain gear.
We used public transportation which limited our range and did basic hiking in Yakisugiland. Still pretty awesome. We will get back and do more exploring.
Will stay in a more low key place and get a guide for a specific hike.
Here are links to a Yakushima guide that has good information and advice for visitors even if not needing a guide.
