Thailand weather April

I have a friend who wants to travel through Thailand end March, first half of April 2005. What kind of weather must he more or less expect? May the rains already have started by then? Thks for info.

The rains will not have started yet but you may wish they had! I've been at that time and enjoyed it but April is usually the hottest month with very high humidity. Don't let that turn you off because you will still have a good time but you will need to wear cool clothes and expect to change often. You may be there for Songkran when local kids will delight in squirting you with water pistols or throwing water over you. If you are not dressing up this can be fun and you will dry out quickly! Have a great time !

This year New Year was 12-14 April. Not sure if it is exactly the same dates every year but it will be around that time. This is water festival (Songkran) time.

Peteralan is correct, April 12 - 15 every year!
