Smeagol & Gpanda- I have definitely been bitten by the bug and hope to revisit Bangkok in the future. It already seemed different when we returned at the end of our trip. We loved staying on the river and highly recommend it for anyone planning a first-time trip.

I am just hoping that with time, the DH will be open to going back to Bangkok as well. He definitely wants to go back to Thailand, so I think I can sway him! ;)

Susan-thank you for the dive info. Even before diving in Thailand, we had been talking about Indonesia -Wakitobi, Bali and others. We hope to get to that part of the world very soon.

I only wish we were allowed more vacation days at work...

k-we always think of our Thailand trip in three segments, BKK, beach and a third, e.g., Siem Riep, Luang Prabang, etc.. Perhaps you can persuade your other half by letting him choose one of the other segments.
