Thailand - Southern, if possible-not insanely westernized!

My brother-in-law is starting his 6 month honeymoon in January and would like to just chill on a beach in southern Thailand. Ideally they'd like to be in a villa/ hut on/by the beach for approx $40-$50 Canadian/night. Can anyone recommend a spot that perhaps hasn't been completely westernized, as so much of the beaches have (ie-NO Mcdonalds). They're looking into Ko Lipe, if anyone has any info...

Thanks!!

Try Koh Ngai Fantasy Resort, relaxing and quiet but decent accommodation. There actually are quite a lot of places off the beaten track that are really nice. The same goes for other parts of the country, and you 'can' get comfortable and nice accommodation quite easily.

6- month honeymoon? Geez, what does your brother- in- law do? Would that everyone could have that kind of time-off!

They're both teachers and are taking a leave of absence. The other amazing thing is that they can go across the world and work for a yr!

There are plenty ofm other quiet places along the coast of Thailand, they will have plenty of time to look around.
