Thailand or Japan for Honeymoon???
Hi! I'm new to this site and looking for some advice! I am planning a honeymoon for June to either Japan or Thailand. The trip will be 10-12 days. I would like it to be romantic but cultural. We don't like resorts (like I would NEVER go to a Sandals or any of that) but we would like a moderate level of comfort and luxury for a non-insane price. I like the idea of mixing beaches with cultural activities like temple visits, music, arts, shopping, great food etc. Both cultures and cuisines are interesting to us. My husband is not really the outdoorsy type, but I think I might coax him a tiny bit in that direction because it's good for him ;).
I like Thailand because it has beaches, exotic, and is CHEAP (does Japan have ANY beaches?). I like Japan because it is a shorter flight, highly cultural, and modern. How romantic is Japan? The culture seems very much more restrained than the Thai culture. Is that just my imagination? Thanks so much for everyone's help!! Robin |
as you know, thailand is WAY cheaper...you will get way more for your money..
the additional flight is only 6 more hours... how about doing 3 days in japan and the remainder in thailand...only do the two capitals.... although a medium sized chain hotel, i think you will find the marriott resort and spa in bkk to your liking bkk has fabulous restaurants os every cuisine...i have a listing if it interests [email protected] |
congrats on your upcoming wedding...!
though i havent been to Japan, after being in Thailand, other asian locations just didnt do it for me anymore (china, HK...) there is NOTHING like a vacation in Thailand. if Japan is closer to you, i would advise to go to Japan some other time in the future as its most likely a more affordable flight for you guys...but honeymoon in Thailand. enjoy the "royalty" feeling where everything is so cheap you can afford it all! cant compare. THAILAND. (was there in August 2006, and we are now planning another trip there!) |
