I arranged my Discovery pass flights over the phone. Will look up the number if you need it. But it's easy that way. I just made a list of flights I wanted and booked them all in one call. Then the guy says he'll send you an email with the info and you need to mail a check to an address they'll send. Most likely you'll talk to someone with an Indian (yes, Indian) accent - I'm guessing their service desk is in India. So if they're not responsive vie email, you can always call and handle it that way.

I booked out Discovery passes over the phone with their UK office using a credit card. They were helpful and told me when the tickets would be issued, which was quite soon after booking.

Just like Scotters, I have seen on the route map of Siem Reap Airways that they have a LP to SR flight. However when I went to "book" it online today (just to see the price, not to actually book) the website directed me to Bangkok Airways booking where i could only find a flight from LP to BKK. Does anyone know anything about this supposed Siem Reap Airways flight?

Lucky, lucky you.
We just went to many of the places you are going (minus the island part). Angkor Wat is so worth adding on, a minimum of 4 nights. We only spent 3 nights in Luang Prabang and definitely wish we could've spent a couple more. I would spend less time in Bangkok (stay on the river) (a couple days at the beginning and a couple at the end) and more out in nature. Have a great time.

ps we flew direct from Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai on Laos Air I think.

pps Use Sargeant Kai as a guide in Chiang Mai.

If you want to add another dimension to your trip to Siem Reap, have a look at this website:

Have a great trip!

I tried a similiar route in November 2005. I did not get Bangkok Airpass before I left US and the prices I was quoted in BKK for all the legs were atrocious! I don't know where Scotter found his local prices, but I wish I did. I switched to Myanmar instead due to the Hi quotes on the airfare as well as a lot of ap a city and return to BKK sort of thing/ I wish I had gone better prepared!
