Thailand Itinery in June

Hi all,

I would really appreciate some help with my itinery. I am travelling to Thailand in June and want to ensure I am not caught up in really bad weather. Has anyone else holidayed there in June, where did you go? Was the weather really bad? I am flying into Bangkok and after that I don't know where to go, we have 3 weeks!!

Thanks a million for your help,
Dee

i am also in thailand in june...have not been at this time of year before, but expect some limited rain, but not storms...should be just fine...i think that this is not the time of year for phuket, but is fine for the other side like at koh samui...should be fine in chiang mai area and perfectly fine in bkk....

where are you staying and when will you be there...we may cross paths??

If you stick around the Gulf area beaches like Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Hua Hin/Cha Am, Pattaya/Jomtien you will only have a few inches of rain per month, that is not a lot at all, same applies to Chiang Mai, Bangkok actually has more rain than those others, it is only in Southern Thailand Phuket/Krabi/Koh Lanta etc where they will be hacing very heavy rainfall.

depending on how far south you go in thailand, raindrops ain't the only thing that you'd be dodging.:-).

Thanks guys, I feel better about it now, I thought I might be stuck inside for my 3 weeks!!

rhkkmk: Sorry, I still haven't decided yet where exactly I am going but I'd say maybe bangkok, chiang mai and the gulf area beaches. Therefore I have no idea where I am staying bt suggestions would always be appreciated!!

kuranosuke: sorry I may seem a bit stupid but what else will I be dodging??????

deelrish: with all the violent clashes with the muslim separatists, you might also be dodging bullets, grenades, and other harmful projectiles. like i said, depending how far south you go, it might be dangerous. stick around bkk, lots to do and see.

You may want to note these budget airline websites for Thailand

www.airasia.com

www.nokair.com ( at the moment it is still all in Thai but they say they will be adding English soon )

In Chinag Mai I strongly reco Tamarind Village - www.tamarindvillage.com. We paid $45 a night incl bfast in peak season in Dec and loved it. Ask for a room facing the inner courtyard on the first floor.
