If by the Vogue in Ao Nang , you mean the Amari Vogue, it is a beautiful property. They have several good eating areas. The view is to die for. There are a lot of stairs as it is built into a hill side, but that adds to the drama of the place. It is out of town, you need a rental or take taxis to get around. I'd stay there in a heart beat.

Warm Friday afternoon greetings from not too far from SFO - and some updates on various Bangkok lodging promos which might appeal to the OP and all.

A certain website - bangkokiswaitingforyou dot com - is offering two free nights at the Grande Dame herself, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. (Contest rules and all, available on said site.) Some of my happiest leisure - and even business travel - moments have occurred at that property; suspect the same for some of you. Select rooms and suites at that hotel are very special. (And always most enjoyable times at Bamboo Bar.)

Finally, updates from my recent stays at the St. Regis (business) and Peninsula (leisure). Very competitive corporate and leisure rate offers have recently arrived. (Targeted emails; quoted rates are significantly below those listed on the respective hotel websites.) So, for any of you frequent Bangkok business/leisure travellers out there with long-time hotel loyalties, do stay abreast of offers.

In light of offers, my current plan is the St. Regis for Jan. and Feb. meetings and at least one night at the Peninsula for Valentine's Day (and evening). Valentine's at the Peninsula is magical; that hotel does it so right that night. (And will add the Oriental and Shangri-La have never disappointed that evening.) Believe this will mark seven straight V Days down by the river, and it never grows old.

As always, wherever you stay, enjoy. Flying back to Asia this evening, so joyous holiday and weekend wishes to all,

Warm greetings from a warm and special Singapore Friday morning - and another Thailand hotel promotion to share with OP and all:

Starwood has an 'Unbeatable Thailand' promo currently going; nothing to lose by perusing all details via Starwood site. I am still scheduled and booked for St. Regis Bangkok meetings next Jan. and Feb.; perhaps some of you with first quarter Thailand business / leisure plans can partake of offers.

(And yes, counting the weeks to the always special Valentine's Day at the Peninsula; a rather fine time and property to spend an evening down by the river.)

Hope you soon experience some great Thai hotels. (And, should you desire to spend time in our fine home of Singapore, pleased to welcome you.) I'm flying to SFO out of SIN (guess the airline) early next week for a week's work; perhaps will have more Thai hotel (and even airline) promotions to share before departure.

Until then, early and joyous New Year wishes to all,
