Thailand Honeymoon Help!!!

Hi there..we are planning our honeymoon to Thailand in July. We are staying 4 days at The Penninsula in Bangkok then on to somewhere quiet for 2 weeks. Any info on The Chedi, Mom's Tri Boathouse, Le Vimarn on Ko Samet, and the Maiton Island resort would be appreciated!! Where will the best weather likely be?? Thanks so much.

The best weather will NOT be in Phuket or Maiton, as it is the rainy season along the west coats of Thailand. Take a look at weatherbase.com and worldclimate.com for historical average temperature and rainfall. Bangkok will be a bit rainy as well, but you won't notice or mind so much as you won't be trying to lay on a beach, and Phuket gets about twice as much rain in July as Bangkok. Ko Samet would be a better choice, as would the Hua Hin area south of Bangkok, Koh Samui, the east coast of Malaysia or Bali. As you have two weeks, you could easily do a combination of a beach destination and a city destination or inland area. Other places to consider are the Chiang Mai mountain areas of Thailand, Cambodia, interior mountain areas of Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong or Beijing (you couldn't really do much more of China with only a week or so.) There is lot of info here about most of these destinations, run a search. Sorry, I don't know either hotel which you mention.

Consider Vietnam for a quiet tour and nice beaches/weather without the crowds. I'm always blathering about how great a time we had at the Furama in Danang, but it was nice! And romantic! Check out some information at http://www.exotissimo.com
E-mail them about the weather....

July 03 we stayed at Fern resort in Mae Hong Son, near Myanmar border, Nth Thailand. It is close by to a National Park for walks & treks, has lovely cabins built in the thai style, great pool, fabulous food and is run by local karen staff. It is paradise and we had our 2nd honeymoon there. Check out google for details.

Sorry, as Cicerone has already said, weather in Nth Thailand is much nicer than sthn beach areas in July. Vietnam is still very hot in July. Mae Hong Son was 25-30 deg c and fine most days.

If you want great food and an attentive staff, I recommend the Boathouse. It has 33 rooms but 80 employees. The rooms were clean and adequate. What stands out is the warmth of the workers. They cannot do enough to make you happy.
