simpsonc510, yup, we're staying at Katathani! I wasn't sure about the distance to Kata village, but figured that 15 minute walk up a hill is not the worst thing in the world :). We did splurge for the Junior Suite for the beach view, since we're taking the weather risks into consideration (we figured if we were to get rained in, a Junior Suite would make it sweeter than a regular room ;) I have since read more good reviews on that hotel, I am so excited. I gather that you have stayed there before? If you did, how was the walk/ride to town? We like exploring the nearby towns a bit, so I'm hoping it's not a dangerous walk/ride in the night?
