thailand beach break

Hey

I have 8days in thailand as a stop over before i get home to work....was looking at a beach break but cant decide on a beach to head to ...been to phuket before and wasn't impressed, id like a social spot that isn't drugs and that line of enjoyment but good for a solo female traveller of 27 with enough things to do if i get bored of sitting on the beach, any advice would be awesome thanks!

What do you think, Bob: Le Meridien Khao Lak or Westin Siray Bay in Phuket?

For me, it would be around Xmas, chilling for four nights before going to India. Would like a town nearby for restaurants, amusement.

JW Khao Lak... fabulous!

Khao Lak would be nice, Christmas time is going to be busy everywhere. Khao Sok National Park is close by.
If you want more than beach, Hua Hin has beach time but also nature parks plus Thai culture. Nice night markets and plenty to see and do away from the beach.

i prefer the jw marriott to the le meridien, but it is fine too
