Thai Air

Just to get away from all the clothing post, I thought you might be interested that Thai Air will be increasing their fuel surcharges effective June 25. On domestic routes the change is not that much only 100 baht. It is on the internatyional routes that they really go up 60-140%. Example on the US/BK route they go up to $281 each way, London/BK to $230, Australia/BK to $185 etc.

I would assume other airlines will follow suite or already have

Scotters, do you know if that is retroactive against paid fares? I hope not. Assuming this is only applicable to new bookings?

Guenmai Jun 12th, 2008 09:54 AM

Let's pray that this is only on new bookings. I've bought my plane tickets to BK through Jan 2009. I already had to pay $244. to change the date to 6 days later on the Dec/Jan ticket due to finding out that my vacation dates at work had changed which I was after I had purchased the ticket. Happy Travels!

My TA told me that if any airline adds an additional fuel surcharge it does not apply if you have paid for the fare IN FULL already

we have not been charged any additional fees on any of our recent trips for tickets booked months ago...once however air asia tried to request an additional $5 but i reminded them that our tickets were purchased before the april 2008 date that the charge went into effect...

And I booked my latest MEB - BKK a week ago [after you posted] - no extra charges.
