I apologize, but is there a place in Hua Hin where I can watch American football on satellite TV. It would be about 2:00 a.m. in Thailand.

The local(national) cable provider offer 3 permanent sport channels(espn, star sport and super sport). If they televise it then you better check with your hotel if they provide cable access(UBC cable with the full channel service - some hotel only offer 4 or 5 channels from the full service). Some bars might have it too but at 2 am they might be close.

What I would need is a sports bar that has a satellite feed from several different local broadcasts in the US. Similar to the bars in the US that have multiple TV's with all of the games on different ones. I fully recognize this is an unlikely prospect.

Yup, a very unlikely prospect. If there is a particular game or enent you want to watch tell me what it is, I don't mind checking the UBC magazine to see if it's on. Bars close in Hua Hin at 12 midnight but if it's a particular major event someone might be showing it somewhere, check at the bars along Soi Bintabat opposite the Hilton.

I admit this is pathetic. I want to watch the New England Patriots play the Indianapolis Colts on 11/30/07.

I've checked the ubc magazine and they will be televising 2 live game on the night of the 30th. 1st game start at 1 am and the other 4 am. You're in luck as the Patriots game will be televise!

Forgot to add that both games will be on channel 30.

While we're on the subject of football and television, can anyone comment on the up-coming Super Bowl Feb 1, 2004. It's usually telecast in the states at 6:30 Eastern which by my calculation is 6:30 am Monday morning BKK time. Where could you watch it in BKK and/or Koh Samui where I plan to be at that time. Also would they re-play it later in the day at a reasonable hour?

Absolutely!!! Classic Cigars is at Gaysorn Plaza (which is the Chidlom sky train station stop). Down the escalators to the "basement level" by the restrooms. You'll find a great selection and friendly staff!

simpson.. wow. thats news too me I kind of enjoy bousing the Gaysorn super elit shops and being shocked at the prics.. yet I've never sceen that cigar shop.. i'll check it out myself.

most department stors have a cigar disply in the mens sections. or in some odd place like the shoe department.. you wont find anything special just your regular PACK cigars..

Thanks for the help on the football and the cigars. We're off to BKK tomorrow. I'll let you know how well my Americanisms were met.
