Did'nt see them in Borneo.Saw the orang & proboscis monkeys at Uncle Tan's.The rain forests being vast and most of it inaccessible & these primates being nocturnal, its difficult to spot them. However,I've seen them in Tongkoko NP in N.Sulawesi.

I believe tarsiers are only found in North Sulawesi (where I just was) and the Philippines. The Animal Planet show on tarsiers was filmed in Sulawesi.

Michael is correct. We were just on an expedition and Tarsiers, the smallest monkieys, are only found in Sulawesi. We looked on a very early morning walk (4 AM) but had to settle for seeing about 10 in captivity.

Yes, there ARE Tarsiers! Martha Stewart is visiting the Borneo Rainforest Lodge right now and has been blogging with photos. Jump to #56!!

I just had to post another link to a blog that has a great post and video of a Tarsier sighting at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge!

They are indiginous to Sulawisi. On an expedition boat we went on land to a small island known to have a number of them. We had to have a wet landing at 5 AM but to our surprise we saw 2 with their sma;ll bodies and very long tails. Several islands over there was a make-shift zooo with 5 that we saw at a leisurely 3 PM. But, a zoo is not in the wild.
