Tamarind Village or Riverview Lodge? in Chiang Mai

We have three nights in Chiang Mai -- trying to decide between Tamarind Village or Riverview Lodge. We want to be close enough to walk to Night Mkt, etc and I am not sure Riverview is. What would you recommend? We can afford more expensive but I would like to avoid anything to "uppity"
Thanks.

The Riverview Lodge is really close to the night market, maybe 5 minutes walk. Don't know about the Tamarind Village. We liked the RV lodge fine and it was pretty cheap. The only complaint we had was that across the river there were a couple of clubs that played loud music pretty late, but the a/c at the RV drowned that out.

Peep,
Thanks for your reply. I cannot find Riverview on any map of the city -- where is it? And . . . aside from the night market are there other things easily walk to?

Tamarind is a very nice place to stay. Clean, friendly and one of the best valued places for the price you're paying. Not too sure about the Riverview.

Hey! It's right on the river about 2 blocks from the night market. It's a short walk east of Thanon Charoen Prathet between the bridges Saphan Nawarat and Saphan Lek (just looking at a map). It seems there were several good restaurants not too far away (Whole Earth was really good) and we walked all over town or took tuk-tuks.
