Taipei Hotels

Can anyone tell me if the following hotels in Taipei are located centrally to most interest points? What would be a good recommendation for a hotel? A budget of US$100-150 would be acceptable.

Thanks

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt. It was a lovely hotel with excellent service. As I remember, I took taxis almost everywhere, but taxis were pretty inexpensive.

Sandy--I just returned from Taipei. I was in Taiwan two weeks and in Tiapei, one week staying at the Hilton Taipei. The hotel was across the street from the train station and the new subway which was great and simple to use for traveling all over the city. The hotel was very professionally run and comfortable. The food was very good. A shuttle service to airport is available (one hour to airport). We entered the city by train from Taiwan's east coast (Toroko Gorge, a wonderful place to visit if dramatic scenery is enjoyed) and left by air. We were completely satisfied with the hotel. It is in a very busy part of the city.

I live in Taipei - the Grand Hyatt may be nice but is quite far from the sights. The Fortuna is woeful - very poorly run. The Inter Con is located in the red light district - might not be your cup of tea. The Landis is a good bet and close to teh National Palace Museum, a famous temple and other sights. The service there is very good.
