Any musician or lover of music traveling to Phuket Thailand should make every effort to get to Friendship Beach--located halfway between Chalong and Rawai.

Every Sunday there is a music jam that is becomming the #1 place for visitors and expatriates to go.

Participants (musicians) are from many countries--mostly Americans, Brits, Aussies and Filipinos.

Styles vary but there is a house rock band as well as a house jazz band. Various traveling blues musicians have also been known to stop by

The audience is basically a yachtie/expat crowd that bring their families for a bar-b-que by the beach.

Friendship Beach is the definitive place to go to meet the expatriate community as well as a fantastic connection the boating community..

A blues festival is scheduled for February 10th and 11th, 2001.

A recording/rehearsal studio is just being completed as well.

It's an excellent scene and a great way to spend a Sunday by the Beach. Stunning views of blue water and distant islands are the backdrop.

All musicians and visitors to Phuket are welcome. There is no cover charge and excellent food and cold drinks are available. Just drop in. Music starts at 2 pm.
