Suggestion on optional tours
We will be with a tour group in Japan during late October and early November.
The tour has a few optional tours that are additional cost. Please give me your opinion on which ones would be worth the extra expense..prices are quoted for one person. --Kamakura walking tour, includes visit to Komachi st., and tram to Daibutsu $160 usd --Shirakawa-go & Gokayama $155 usd --Nara & Fushimi includes Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Shinto Shrine, town of Fushimi $150 usd --TraditionalJapanese musical tour , includes musicians playing ancient instruments and then going to HigashiyM district to explore "path of ISHIBEI". $95 usd --Arashiyama walking tour..two gardens, Tenryuji Temple has Zen garden, and garden of Okochi-Sanso $75 usd Please let me know your opinion of these places if you have visited them. Thank you so much! D. |
While I think all of the places you list are of interest and worth your time, I think the prices you indicate. Per person are very high. If you do Kamakura from Tokyo, Nara from Kyoto and S-go and Gokayama from Takayama on your own you can pay far less and see what you want. Gokayama may have to be left out as buses are infrequent, but if you rent a car (which can easily be included at their price) you could easily drive the area. S-go to takayama is easy on the bus.

Hello Davisman,
I was googling and found this Japan travel report of Doug and Marie, which I thought you'd be very interested to read: http://dougandmarie.blogspot.com/200...h-20-2009.html Click on a different date up on the left hand side to read the next entry. |
I agree with Kim. All are interesting, but the question is whether you have the time to do them yourselves, and whether you're interested in doing the research like how to get there and what to see.

thank you so much..I read Doug and Marie's blog and it helped a great deal.
