stay in Honk Kong

I plan 2-3 days stopover in Hong Konk on the way back from Bali in May. Its my first visit to Hong Kong. What's the best to stay: in Hong Kong (Island part) or in Kowloon (land side). In Honk Kong I was offered the Regal Hong Kong hotel and in Kowloon - The Royal Garden hotel. If anybody know these hotel I would very much appreciate your comments and advise which hotel is better. I have got very similar rates for both of them.

Thanks

Alex

Regal HK is more close to MTR station and at the busiest shopping centre of Causeway Bay. So, it may be a bit crowd around that area.

Royal Garden is a bit far (about 10-15 minutes walk) to TsimShaTsui MTR Station. But it's quite.

i generally prefer to stay in kowloon as a tourist...but it is nice to be near to the star ferry terminal...you might look at the salisbury ymca or the kowloon hotel, both of which have fantastic locations near to each other---near the famed peninsula hotel...

yopu may not have an option....regal hotels are always decent i must say..

Causeway Bay is a better location than Tsim Sha Tsui East. Tonnes of shops and restaurants, and easy transportation. A lot more lively than TST-E. It's just 3 MTR stops from Central, and there are lots of buses & the HK Tramway.

Talking about hotels in Causeway Bay, perhaps you'd like to check out a recent boutique hotel designed by Philippe Starck - "Jia" (meaning "home" in mandarin) - in its website here - http://www.jiahongkong.com/
