Sri Lanka in December

I'm planning to visit Sri Lanka this mid December, which I hear should be a good time to explore the southern region in terms of weather. Is this true? What to expect when exploring in the second or third week of December?

How about Kandy, the Tea Country, and Sigiriya in December?

Also, I read that the Colombo airport is doing some expansion (commenced in April 2017), anyone who's been there recently? How's the situation like at the airport?

Thank you.

No one can guarantee what your weather will be like. The best you can do is to look at one of the weather websites, like to see what weather has been like historically in each of the places you want to visit. With climate change, the historical weather patterns may be less helpful than usual.

I haven't been through the airport at Colombo recently, but it is a relatively small airport, so I would expect that the situation shouldn't be too disrupted.
