Sri Lanka east cost beaches
 

Hello,

We are staying at Passi and Trinco for a week and left extra several nights for another nice beach place in the same style. Are there any beaches beside Trinco and Passi in the north-east coast? If not, are there any "Passi/Trinco" style beaches in other areas of SL which are nice at this time (July).

Nilaveli Beach is fabulous at this time (April - August) of the year. Try Nilaveli Beach Hotel.

Arugam Bay! It's probably the most happening east coast beach and the best place to surf in Sri Lanka!

Arugambay is an iconic world famous pro surfing location with big right hander waves! The sea/beach is otherwise rough and not for easy swimming, also no snorkelling etc. Hotels and guest houses are also mostly catering to surfer type of clientele.

Agree with Mohammed, Arugam Bay is awesome for surfing, but the sea is rough. But if you're a surfer or like to learn it and chill out in a relaxed atmosphere, it's the place to be! Kalkudah Beach is close to Passi and also a beautiful white sand beach perfect for swimming.
