Son's BKK trip is now booked

To Andy and others who are in BKK right after Christmas, son Brad is now booked to arrive on the 28th. He will miss the 26th GTG at Face Bar, which he regrets. He's going to be staying at Patumwan House until the 5th of January, if anyone would like to meet up. He says he's going to register and start posting here... yeah, right...

Anyway, what about something on say the 29th.

Carol

PS Just got back from just over two weeks in Europe... did you miss me??? LOL

C-unfortunately, we're leaving on the 29th for Siem Riep and then on to Krabi. I guess this means I'll have to wait until the next GTG to see Brad.

Andy
Brad was looking forward to meeting up at the cigar shop in BKK, but it looks like that will have to wait. Will you be going BACK through BKK before coming back home? He is going to be there until early February, with some short trips here and there.

WE are arriving back on 1/5/05, but things may be hectic. I may need to use you as an intermediary.

That might be a problem. I'm going to Puerto Rico on the 27th and coming back home on January 9th. I'll be taking my laptop and will try to look at email. But, if I can't get a network signal we might be in trouble. Guess the GTG at the cigar shop, if it happens, will be just a coincidence. I know Brad will go there several times because he connects with old friends there.

Carol:

Are you visiting Puerto Rico on vacations or do you have family here?(I live in PR). I will be in Thailand on February 13 through March 2, 2006, and have read your recommendations and comments on your trips to Thailand. I think you won't have any problems connecting to a Network for your e-mails.

Hi Gilberto,
I'm visiting Puerto Rico on a vacation with DH. We are taking a cruise to the S. Caribbean from there. We took a shorter cruise to St Thomas a few years ago and only had one night in San Juan before cruising. This time, we have allowed ourselves several days to have a look around before sailing. I'm looking forward to it. Any 'must see's' that we should not miss?

I hope you have a wonderful time in Thailand. It's a very special place. I hope my recommendations are helpful. Sorry I will not be there at the same time. If things go as planned, I will be there for the last two weeks of January.

I'm glad to hear that I should be able to stay in touch with my wifi laptop while in PR. I think I can on Princess as well, but it will cost me an arm and a leg... (smile)

Hi Carol,

Hope you have a great vacation in the Caribbean. By the way, this is the best season to come here. In Puerto Rico the weather is perfect. Very bright and blue skies with fresh air and breezy. Nights will be around 68-72 in the cities, but cooler in the mountains (45-60). The must see's will include El Yunque Rain Forest (great views from the mountains, cool weather and lovely walking trails), Las Cavernas de Camuy (Stalagmites and Stalactites caves...beautiful), Observatorio de Arecibo (Biggest Radiotescope in the world- Gigantic Dish). This is very near the Camuy Caves. And of course beaches and Old San Juan. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the tips on PR. We will have a rental car for one day, so will venture out to the forest. We are staying in Old San Juan, so exploring that area will be easy.

The weather sounds just great! I can't wait.
