Very nice pictures, but bugs on a stick??? I am such a light-weight when it comes to adventurous eating. I'm always asking "what's in it?" before I try unfamiliar food. The bugs though, I'd probaby opt to eat the stick and leave the bugs on my plate!

Did you eat them?

monicapileggi Nov 9th, 2008 12:48 PM

Glad you enjoyed the photos!

No, I did NOT eat any bugs on a stick. I have other photos, but that one was enough. There were also grubs on a stick. Ick! I stuck with the foods that I knew. Lamb skewers.

PS: A few more photos have been added. I really need to get some recipes for the vegetable dishes we enjoyed!

These are some Great Wall photos.

Stinky tofu: What we ate wasn't the authentice stinky tofu where one can smell it from a good distance away. This was delicious and deep fried. It came with a side of hot sauce, which we were careful eating, as it was VERY hot!

Great photos, Monica...just a shame you spoil them by having your name across the centre of each one!

Monica, your pictures are fabulous! Honestly, I didn't think Chinese food could look so good but you make everything look incredible. The Great Wall pictures are also stunning. Thanks for posting.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I just added the last of the food shots, to include Hong Kong. Our last night we splurged and dined at Jimmy's Kitchen, located close to our hotel (YMCA Salisbury). It was a nice change from all the Chinese food we ate. And the prime rib was delicious.

Sorry for the name across the photos, but I have my web site set up with the watermark.

rhkkmk, we were lucky for the blue skies at the Wall, although it didn't last long.

Today I hope to add photos, "Faces of China" which I took many. It was a great opportunity to meet people along the way.

monicapileggi Nov 11th, 2008 02:49 PM

The eggplant dishes were some of the best I've ever eaten.

I have uploaded another grouping of photos: "Faces of China"
