Snow Leopard Expedition to Ladakh, India
Truly a mythical animal for wildlife watchers around the world, the Snow Leopard represents for most of us the unattainable; the impossible; the one species that will always be a pipe dream. It was that way for us anyway. But that is until October 2014! Two weeks ago, the Smith family trekked deep in to the heart of Hemis National Park in Jammu & Kashmir and spent over a week tracking and spotting FIVE wild Snow Leopards! This trip report shares our experiences and images of the this truly epic expedition! Enjoy!

BTW,the latest info is the tiger population in India has swelled to 2226 from 1704 in 2010 and Karnataka has the highest density with 406. Off to Nagarhole ( Rajiv Gandhi) NP in Karnataka this weekend, hope to get lucky.

Thanks! I did read the new tiger data articles. I sincerely hope the counts are correct. India has in the past been caught inflating their numbers for years by fabricating data. I hate to be cynical....But I do hope this new information is true and indicative a trend in a GOOD direction!
