Singapore to Malaysia by bus - 3 days
 

Hi,

We are planning to take the express bus from Singapore to Malaysia (Maracca, KL). Will take the earlist bus from SIN to Malaysia.

December 7th - Earliest bus from SIN to KL.
Will spend the rest of the day in KL
December 8th. - Full day KL
December 9th - Earliest bus from KL to Maracca.
Will spend day in Maracca and leave for SIN.

Does this order sound okay? So we will have 1.5 day in KL and 1 day in Malacca.

I will be reaching SIN on December 5th i.e. 2 days before departure - Do I need to buy the bus tickets in advance or can I buy them when I reach SIN? Besides aeroline, do you recommend any other bus companies?

honestly, I am not very keen on seeing KL. Is there any other place that we can visit in South Malaysia? We have 3 fully days.

I really want to visit Penang but the bus ride is too long and the plane is expensive for me.

Why not just spend your time in Malacca and Singapore? Opt for a couple of days in Malacca. The way you have it now, you are spending a lot of your vacation on the bus. Where else are you going on this trip?

To give you a bit of the background.

I fly in from NYC to SIN on Dec 5th and my parents fly in from Mumbai on the same day. We will be living with family. I have 5 full days to spend with them. After that, they will be staying back in SIN and I leave for BKK for a friend's wedding. I feel 2 full days in BKK will be good enough for me. I just want to see Sentosa and the night zoo.

I am now thinking of just getting a $100 round trip air ticket to Penang and relaxing there. Instead of moving around. It's worth the extra money right?

I loved Penang. And it is, IMO, more interesting than KL. Try to stay in the Georgetown area as it has so many interesting things to do and such great food.

When you mention Sentose and the Night Zoo, I assume you mean Singapore. I hope you will have some time to enjoy Bangkok.

Yes, it is worth the extra $100 to go to Penang for a few days.
