Thanks.
Two points are very interesting to me: You can really eat from the food stalls in SIN with no issues at all? and, Chili Crab as a local specialty? That sounds fantastic. I looked at the visitsingapore site again, it seems there is a bunch to do for a couple of days. Perhaps against the setting of Bali, new and modern isn't so bad, especially if there's good food, ergo my screen name - "I'm hungry." Thanks again. Tengo. |
Yes, you can eat from the food stalls in Singapore (Bill, Penang is another place you can eat from the food stalls). Excercise the same cautions you would in a restaurant. If it looks unclean or dodgy, avoid it, but otherwise, munch away to your heart's content.

We went to Singapore almost two years ago and were told to try the food stalls, well one of us got severe food poisoning from the prawns, fortunately the rest of us are allergic to prawns so we didn't get exposed. We also saw a customer dropped his change and dollar bills on the food buffet, they calmly retrieved them and wiped the coins with their food towel and continued selling. It's not worth the risk IMHO.
We also loved Bali. The Balinese vivid culture and mysticism really enhance the beauty of the island. The abundance of beautiful temples and architecture, their colorful dances & music plus the verdant rice padi hills will leave you a lasting memory. Sometimes I feel that I can still see and hear them in the distance. The friendly locals also made the beautiful island even more memorable. |
