so, what's it going to be?? your public needs to know!!

Sentosa Island has its own Shangri-La hotel, the Rasa Sentosa Resort.

Funny no one has mentioned the Mandarin Oriental or the Pan Pacific yet.

So how are arrangements going for our date, lori? Where are we staying? BTW, you don't need to shave your legs for me. You know I like a bit of stubble.

offwego Jul 3rd, 2009 11:30 PM

Ah you are true to your name. You said you'd never tell. Just for that I won't "wax my moustache" either.

The location is unknown to me. I've thrown out some suggestions based on your kind recommendations. My job is to show up for the flight and not forget my lipstick. After that, I'm just going to work on being "present" and try not to spend the night calculating how many books and kilos of rice that much money buys.

Enjoy your holiday in Singapore, offwego!

Yes, it's time to put on another persona and just enjoy yourself instead of worrying about others all the time.

You richly deserve this holiday! :)

Do have a wonderful time, Lori. We will expect a full report, of course... at least on the hotel.

I also vote for Ritz Carlton, Marina View. I've seen those rooms. Gorgeous. Happy Travels!

My vote would go to Raffles, good location not to far from Orchard Road if you like shopping, great food, friendly staff. I would fly with Singapore Airlines on the A380 Airbus first class if money is no problem, would start things of well. Hope you have a great time.

rhkkmk Aug 12th, 2009 04:27 PM

yea... "so did you go yet?" .....

offwego Aug 12th, 2009 06:38 PM

Not yet Bob. Not until October. I'll start shaving sometime the end of September I reckon...

Kathie Aug 12th, 2009 07:10 PM

lol, Lori We sure are a snoopy bunch, aren't we?

rhkkmk Aug 12th, 2009 07:17 PM

kathie---she asked for it...fodors is an open book....haha

Smeagol Aug 13th, 2009 03:33 AM

where have you settled on Lori?

offwego Aug 13th, 2009 06:54 AM

Smeagol, since I'm not paying, I'm not deciding. I've thrown the options out there and we'll see.

The whole thing is starting to eat at me. I spend every day scraping spare change from the couch cushions of the universe to put kids in school. I can't stop thinking about what I could do with all that money. A horrific waste of resources, but saying anything about it sure puts a damper on the "mood".

What's a girl to do.

Smeagol Aug 13th, 2009 09:15 AM

but sometimes, when a person spends ALL their time thinking and doing for others they need a bit of attention back. Think of it as a way to recharge your batteries and money well spent... you will be raring to go when you get back.
Don't feel guilty you do so much good, you deserve a treat!
