Singapore Hotel
Any suggestions for a pre cruise hotel this december? Thanks Jake
|
A couple I'd recommend: Raffles the Plaza (not to be confused with Raffles) or Swisshotel Stamford, both located above Raffles city complex and an MRT stop or The Fullerton.
|
There are so many nice hotels in Singapore. Although I haven't stayed there myself yet, you might have a look at the Merchant Court, right on the river between Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

Give us a price range. Happy Travels!

The Shangri La hotel or The Oriental would be my bets for a 5*

Tell us your budget, there is such a huge choice. Does not really matter where you stay relative to the cruise port but budget will give us ideas of which to suggest.

Thank you so much for your responses, I was planning on spending not more than 200 USD, possibily the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. What do you think?? Jake
|
Personaly I don't rate the location for the Copthorne, though others might have another opinion, Raffles Plaza ( not Raffles itself ) , there are just so many, the Royal Plaza on Scotts is well located, close to orchard Road, also close to SMRT ( subway trains ) and is of a good standard, should be around USD 180. These have a choice of 3 or 4 places for different rates so you can compare rates.

For $200 USD with a bit of a hunt around you could get most of the 5 star hotels - I've seen the Shangri La and Oriental for about £110 a night whiuch is within your budget there or thereabouts.

I just returned from a week stay at the Raffles at the Plaza Hotel. Great service and a perfect location above a mall and MRT station so you can get anywhere fast from there. It is also within walking distance to downtown, boat quay, etc...
I had dinner at the Shangri-La. Very nice but it seemed a bit out of the way. |
I usually stay at the Swissotel Merchant Court. It is next to underground station Clark Quay, nearby to chinatown and also Clark Quay.
|
The Raffles Plaza or the Ritz Carlton are my favs in S'pore - both should be available in your budget with a little effort.
|
The Raffles Plaza has a great location...couldn't be more convenient. There's also Jason's supermarket, in the basement of the mall...Raffles City...that it's attached too. There are plenty of places to eat, too. I've just reserved for the Raffles Plaza for September on my way back to L.A. from Bangkok. Happy Travels!
