Singapore help- taxis and zoo breakfast with orangutans

Hi, my sister and I are in the planning stages of a trip to Singapore (and beyond) in September. We were wondering if anyone can help with a few questions? Approximately how much will it cost to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel area?
Would the breakfast with orangutans, at the zoo, be appropriate for adults, or is it mainly for children? There's a whole list of things we want to do, which can be purchased at viator.com, but I suspect that we could do it cheaper by booking ourselves.
Also, it would be nice if anyone can tell us what they really enjoyed, or not, in Singapore.
We are torn between Malaysia and Indonesia for the remainder of our trip. Snorkeling is a major consideration in our plans.

If you want to have breakfast with the orangutans, do it. I do understand you should book ahead with the zoo.

It will be much cheaper to do things on your own in Singapore. Frankly, I can't think of any place easier to get around and no trnaslators are needed. Taxis are reasonably priced (and won't try to cheat you), the MRT is clean, efficient and air-conditioned.

I love the botanical gardens in Singapore, especially the orchid garden. We enjoyed a trip to the Jurong Bird Park, especiallly the natural habitat aviary.

The Museum of Asian Civilizations is excellent.

The food in SIngapore is great!

If you go to the drop-down menu at the top of the page and choose Singapore, it will bring up all of the threads about Singapore. There are lists of at least a hundred things people enjoyed doing in Singapore.

I also loved the orchid garden at the Botanical gardens, the museum of Asian civilization. Walking around Little India, chinatown. Eating. Somany favorite places!

There is great snorkeling in Malaysia. My daughter went to several islands in malaysia and loved snorkeling so much, she actually got scuba certified.

For the taxi fare, you can try this: http://www.worldtaximeter.com/
You can try Orchard Road for the destination, as many hotels are located there.

"Approximately how much will it cost to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel area"

Depends on where the 'hotel area' is. I was just in Singapore, a taxi from our hotel on Bencoolen Street to the airport was SGD $15, but a taxi from the airport to the same hotel was closer to SGD $20. Keep in mind taxis from the airport are more expensive as there's an airport surcharge. There are also surcharges for early/late arrivals, charges for using certain high volume roads in the city at busy times, etc. All things considered, taxis are still pretty cheap though.

If you don't have much luggage, you might consider the MRT - easy to use and really cheap. There's an MRT station in the basement of Changi.

It's cheaper to just book activities when you get there. We booked a harbour cruise on the day of our arrival with the help of our hotel concierge. Easy.

I've been in Singapore many times...what I've enjoyed on recent trips were a visit to the Marina Sands casino, a tea time harbour cruise on the Admiral Cheng Ho vessel, a visit to Kusu Island, poking around Bugis market, eating German food at a place called Brotziet and exploring the various Kopitiams (food halls).
