Singapore-Georgetown-Kuala Lumpur
I would like to have advice on a trip planned in November early December. Max 8 days.
Best transportation option, recommended. Renting a car, Bus or local Airlines ? |
I just came back from Singapore. Have friends in Kuala Lumpur,
they recommend taking a luxury bus. My husband and I bought the tickets online for S$50 each (Euro 25), one way. We were very surprised how smooth and comfortable the 5 hours drive was. A new, modern bus, airline like seats, board entertainment. They served a meal, coffee/tea, bottled water too. We had to go through immigration and customs with our luggage but it was no big thing. |
We took the night train from Singapore to KL, then a bus to Georgetown. We had a double sleeper on the train. Cute cabin with private bath & shower, TV, and dinner. I enjoyed it, although the train was delayed at the border for about an hour, so we didn't get to sleep till late.
Malaysian buses are wonderful. Clean, fast, good roads, immaculate rest stops, and decent food (although I recommend you take your own snacks too). |
It depends on how much time you want to spend in transit. Bus, train and plane are all options.
Does the 8 days include all three locations? Have you been to any of these places before? I'm asking because 8 days isn't a lot to visit three places. |
i will be taking a bus trip from georgetown to the genting highland rainforests next month. i will write about the trip. looking forward to this trip.

air asia is a good way to get around... i will be taking it from K/L to georgetown and then from there to singapore...i think they have a sale right now too...

You will love this area. Be sure to read up on the all the restaurant recs here. And try to get to the E+O in Georgetown during their happy hour. This trip was my absolute favorite so far.
