Singapore Airlines

I flew Singapore Airlines to Asia last year (business class). It was by far, the best flying experience of my life (and I have flown b-class many times on various airlines). My question -- I am thinking about taking Singapore Airlines to Europe this fall -- but this time coach. Are they are better in Coach than the US Domestic airlines? Is the seat space any better than with domestic carriers?

If you're flying from the USA to Europe I believe that Singapore Airlines only fly from NY to Frankfurt. If that is your route then Singapore Airlines is definitely better than any US carrier in coach.

I frequently fly from Singapore to LAX on Singapore Air in Executive Economy(no coach available on this particular route - 16.5 hour flight). They're hands down my favorite airline, regardless of class of service. Can't help with seat size info though - suggest you check the site mentioned previously for specifics.

Recently flew United from Singapore-NRT-SFO-COS and return in Business Class - what a disaster. Four hour delay on one of the outbound flights, which caused me to miss two connections; had to be re-routed through Denver and arrived seven hours late. In addition to the regular crew, there were six trainee flight attendants on board - one of which spilled hot coffee all over me and didn't even apologize. It was a noisy, chaotic flight - sleep was impossible.

Four hours into the return flight from ORD-NRT the plane developed mechanical problems and was diverted to SFO, causing a 24 hour delay. I missed three connecting flights, lost my hotel reservation in Singapore and United managed to lose my luggage for two days despite a five hour layover in NRT.

Save yourself the grief and fly Singapore Air - much better all around service.

Space in coach is tight like most carriers. Around 32" pitch, and since it's a 747 for JFK-FRA, you have 3-4-3 seating. Really nothing to write home about.

Sure, food is likely to be better.

If it's same price and you're trying to go from NYC to Frankfurt, sure. But I wouldn't go out of the way to fly them in coach.

Like others said space is the same, but the food and entertainment and service may be better to Frankfurt.
