Singapore 5D/5N itinerary recommendation (Aug end)please

We are traveling to Singapore for 5 days and 5 nights at the end of august 2019 with our two boys(13 and 11). Can you please recommend the must see places in Singapore and around? We prefer to keep the trip laid back and not hurry ourselves but hit the top attractions. Any hotels recommendation is appreciated as well.

For me, the most important factor in hotel location is to be close to an MRT station.

I guess everyone's top attractions depend on your interests. For instance, I love visiting the Orchid Garden inside the Botanical Gardens. I have no interest in Sentosa (theme Park) or the Sands (casino). The Singapore Tourist Board has excellent info. Take a look at their info and see what things appeal to you.

With two kids traveling in mid-summer, I highly recommend booking a hotel or serviced apartment with a large family-friendly pool. Just check the pool hours and age limits. For example, the large Club level pool at the Oasia Downtown does not allow kids under 16 or 18 (forget which) in that pool or even the lounge area around it.

Also take some time to learn the mall and other linked walking routes that let you walk through large parts of the central city in air conditioned comfort; also handy during rainstorms.

A serviced apartment might be a good bet for you; there are lots of them and many offer units with their own washer/dryer.

Hotel choice is also budget restricted.
As Kathie said getting a location close to public transportation is important though I found cab fares to be reasonable.
You may want to see the iconic Merlion. Clarke Quay is a place to go to in the evening BTW. Not much is open during the day as we discovered.

Its always hot there so dress accordingly and drink plenty of H2O.
Columbia for one has a line of clothing with sun block blended into the fabric. It worked for me when were in Kuala Lumpur last year which is basically like Singapore in terms of weather.
Have fun. We loved Singapore. Its clean and safe. If I won a huge lotto and could figure out how to reduce the average temperature by 15 degrees F I'd move there. :D.
