Singapor/Malaysia/Thailand trip - Need advices!

Hey guys!

Going to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in feb/mar 18.

Landing in Singapore, planning to stay 2 days there, 5 days in Malaysia and about 3 weeks in Thailand.

Wanted to know what would be a good itinerary for Malaysia and Thailand. Looking for 2 days in Kuala Lumpur and about 3 days beaches/islands/countryside. Would then hop to Thailan, Will spend 4 days in Ko Tao for PADI. Would like to do it as soon as we get to Thailand.

Would be greatly appreciated if you could give us a hand :)

Thanks!

2 days is not much for Singapore -- are you sure you can see and experience what you want in that time?

Three days for beaches etc? Really? Hardly worth the trip out to an island for just one day. Recommend the Perhentians if it's the right time of year.

Note:on full day requires two nights.

That should be one! No idea where the emoticon came from....

The weather and hence the diving conditions would probably be better on the Andaman coast rather than the gulf coast. Khao Lak has some good dive operators. You could do your basic Padi there for a day or two and then finish it off on a liveaboard. Seabees is a decent operator.

Like Thursdaysd, I would recommend the Perhentians where the diving is even better tan Koh Tao bit I think it is the wrong time of year.. Also bear in mind that Koh Tao has a bit of a reputation as the murder capital of the gulf coast as far as tourists are concerned. I have dive there a couple of times but would not return until te authorities get their act together - not likely to happen in my lifetime!

Also agree with Thursdaysd re time in Malaysia. If you want a side trip from KL, look at Melaka, Cameron Highlands or Taman Negara.

Depends on one's interests! I spent 4 very busy days in Singapore, during which I skipped Orchard Road, Sentosa, and Singapore's night life, and I was not favorably impressed with Marina Bay. You can read about what I did there in my long, but searchable, trip report:
