Good morning divediva,
My website is not up and running yet. Thank you for mentioning it. I'm getting very excited about it! The container of stuff arrived while I was on a three week trip to Australia and the Cook Islands and Tahiti/Bora Bora. I'm still cataloging! And more stuff just arrived yesterday from another source!!! Yikes!! I'm trying to keep up with it. I don't think I should or could post the site name here... it would be deleted??? Anyway, I can give you a key word for doing a search, maybe, once I get all set up. My computer guy will soon be starting to take photos!

Our shipper in Chiang Mai is Elite at Hangdong market. Suthep (pronounced sue tep) is the owner.

They also have trucks going to and from BKK daily, I think?

Have a great trip! And happy shopping!

You will be blown away by all the furniture and stuff in Chiang Mai. You will want to go to Hangdong markets. That's where you will find the places where they sell wholesale. Another place is Bosong market, but I'm not sure how much furniture is there. I have bought other things there...

I don't remember if you told where you are staying in CM. If it is the Sheraton, there are drivers who park on the street and wait to take people out to the markets and sights. If you can find JIT, he is the person who takes us around everytime. He speaks enough English to get along and is very friendly.

carol---how do you find that the wood from SE asia adjusts to non humid climates and to heated homes in usa??

bob

why don't you start a list of our e addresses so you can send us a direct mail when your web-site is up??

[email protected] also
[email protected] (new)

Hi Bob,
Re:the wood. It maybe depends upon whether the wood was kiln fired. We have some elephant statues with cracks in them, but other items show no signs of dry heat, dry air, etc. My son's furniture pieces are just fine.

As far as collecting email addresses, I could do that! Great suggestion! I shall begin a list with yours! Keep in mind that it is going to be a few more weeks yet... Progress is rather slow since we run a business, and my computer guy is busy with other projects as well as mine. I also do a lot of traveling (even more now that I am retired) and am away from the store, and often away from a computer.

I appreciate that there are folks out there waiting for my website!!! : )
