SIM cards in Bangkok

Has anyone used SIM cards for their mobile phones in Banngkok? Our phone in unlocked so it will accept overseas Sim cards. But I need to know where to buy them and what the price would be.
Any input will help.
Thank you,
Grandma Carol

You can get sim-card/phone card sets at any shopping centre or at 7eleven shops. The set for "1,2 call" including sim-card and 50 baht phone credit costs 300 Baht. I use them always. If you dial 800 before the country code, calls to Europe are 8 Baht/minute, otherwise 21 Baht/minute

Hi Carol! Correction; you have to dial 008, not 800!

There is also Happy DPrompt & Orange, and some others, just browse around the mobile phone shops in the department stores and check the prices, sometimes there are promotions and you can get a cheaper call rate with a particular sim. Anyway, they're real easy to find.
