We are currently booked at the Angkor Century. I am wondering if there is a better choice in this same category range. I know there are so many new ones. I have mostly read good reviews, but sometimes I obsess about hotels??? Thanks in advance.

there was recently a sort of negetive report here about the angkor century...did you do a search here??

all angkor hotels are basically overpriced...

Thanks. I had tried a search and only a 3 year old post came up. I went back and re-read all posts from Cambodia and finally found the one you spoke of. After some advice from a Siem Reap "expert" we have switched to Le Meridien, for just a few dollars more. Does anyone have any experience with that property? I will post when we return, but that is not until early December.

I would recommend the FCC Angkor which is well located and is an excellent choice for Angkor. We stayed there last Christmas...the service and rooms were impeccable. We paid around $90 USD a night.

Had a look at this a while back, Bopha Angkor was USD 48 Boran L'Auberge for about USD 70, found them on www.nongasia.com/cambodia_hotels.html, they had around 25 plus places from cheap to top range.

Boran is great and only about $45-50. NIce garden and pool. I think it's a good deal for Siem Reap. It was the perfect place for me.

i think the meredien is quite new and should be quite lux...

we were very pleased with the Sofitel Royal Angkor. Huge pool which is great for the afternoon break.

just got back from our trip. We stayed at Borann and liked it very much. Really traditional and this property is also involved in humanitarian work with children in cambodia. However, it is quite rustic. The beds are hard, no t.v. or telephone. If you are looking for lux, go elsewhere. If you are looking for traditional...Borann is your place. We paid $40 for an A/C room for 2.
